Job summary

Harrington Geotechnical Engineering Inc. (HGEI) is seeking a Field Supervisor Technician to lead field teams, perform field testing, inspections, and soil sampling, and coordinate field operations.

The role requires ensuring safety, maintaining certifications, and supporting geotechnical projects through accurate data collection and reporting. You will use established methods, read construction plans, supervise technicians, and collaborate with engineers and contractors.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years proven experience as Soil Technician or similar.
• Experience coordinating or supervising field technicians preferred.
• Knowledge of soil surveying techniques and data collection.
• Ability to read construction plans and specifications.
• Nuclear gauge certification required per NRC.
• Valid driver's license and transportation with full insurance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field technicians during testing, sampling, and reporting.
• Coordinate field operations and ensure safety compliance.
• Maintain certifications and calibration records for equipment.
• Enter soil data and perform data analysis with software.
• Prepare daily field inspection reports.
• Communicate with engineers, contractors, and clients.
• Lead Field Safety Officer duties and ensure safety protocols.
• Uphold project specs and QA/QC procedures.
