Job summary

American Engineering Testing, Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer in Rapid City, SD to support engineers and technicians on project duties, perform laboratory testing, and observe field construction materials to ensure accurate data collection and reliable project outcomes.

The ideal candidate will be adaptable, technically proficient, and collaborative, with 0-3 years of experience, a Civil/Geological engineering degree, and an EiT track aimed at PE certification; occasional travel is expected as

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, or related Engineering field.
• 0-3 years of experience in an engineering or science field.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) and ability to achieve professional registration (PE).
• Internship or previous work experience preferred, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical field testing according to QA procedures.
• Perform soil laboratory tests according to QA procedures.
• Prepare reports of field and laboratory work.
• Communicate with clients to determine project needs.
• Assist in maintaining and improving the materials testing laboratory.
• Travel within regional area as required.
