Job summary

American Engineering Testing Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer in North Dakota to support engineers in field and laboratory testing, collect data, and observe construction materials.

The role emphasizes adaptability, technical skill, and teamwork to deliver reliable project results. The position involves geotechnical field testing, soil sample work, report preparation, and collaboration with clients, with travel within the region and occasional out-of-town assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological, or related Engineering field.
• 0-3 years of experience in an engineering or science related field.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) and ability to achieve professional registration (PE).
• Internship or previous work experience preferred, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical field testing according to QA procedures.
• Perform soil laboratory tests according to QA procedures.
• Log/classify soil samples in laboratory or fieldwork, as needed.
• Prepare reports of field and laboratory work.
• Prepare detailed site visit reports for job file using standard AET forms.
• Communicate with clients to determine their project needs.
