Job summary

GeoEngineers is seeking a Staff Geotechnical Engineer in San Diego, CA to lead field exploration, analyze soil conditions, and design foundations. Expect extensive field time on diverse projects with opportunities to participate in seismic and settlement evaluations.

The role also involves preparing field reports, coordinating data collection, and potentially supporting geotechnical teams at other locations. A robust background in geotechnical engineering and EIT certification are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required; Master’s in Geotechnical or related field strongly preferred.
• Previous internship or experience in geotechnical engineering preferred.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification required for Staff Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for field exploration and observation of earthwork and foundation construction, on projects big and small, to develop an understanding of soil conditions and construction-related geotechnical issues.
• Responsible for preparing field reports and performing geotechnical analyses such as slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, deep foundation design, and seismic evaluation.
• Assists with gathering field data and field samples for related projects. Coordinates samples for testing as needed.
