Join to apply for the Geotechnical Engineering Technician role at Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA).

GTA's office in Sterling, VA is seeking candidates for a Geotechnical Engineering Technician position. In this role, you will provide observation and testing services for geotechnical and environmental projects, supporting geologists, engineers, and scientists for a diverse client base in both private and public sectors. Responsibilities include monitoring and testing soil moisture and density using nuclear gauges, testing concrete, asphalt, and other materials, observing and documenting construction activities to ensure compliance, and preparing reports and test summaries.

Requirements:

• Own transportation, valid driver's license, and good driving record
• Enjoy working outdoors
• High school diploma or equivalent
• NICET, WACEL, and/or ACI certifications preferred but not required

This position may require standing for extended periods and repetitive motions such as lifting or hammering. The employee must be able to use their hands for handling, reaching, climbing, and balancing, and be able to crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel, sit, see, and smell, including various visual focuses. Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds, and occasionally move 80 pounds or more.

GTA will provide personal protective equipment, including high visibility vests, hard hats, gloves, and safety glasses.
