Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Lead to join the Transportation team in Atlanta, GA. You will lead geotechnical design and field programs for bridges, embankments, walls, and foundations, mentoring a multidisciplinary team.

You will coordinate design efforts, perform advanced analyses, review data, and ensure DOT and client requirements are met. Strong communication and leadership are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) certification.
• Experience supporting bridge, transportation, or heavy civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and coordinate geotechnical field investigations and laboratory testing programs.
• Review boring logs, laboratory data, subsurface conditions, soil mechanics, rock properties, and groundwater impacts.
• Perform geotechnical analyses for bridges, retaining walls, MSE walls, embankments, etc.
• Develop geotechnical recommendations to support designs, drawings, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
• Coordinate with DOT clients, contractors, multidisciplinary project teams, and local agencies.
• Provide construction-phase services, including field observations and inspections.
