Job summary

AECOM’s Oakland, California Geo-Engineering Department seeks a Lead Geotechnical Engineer to lead projects in dams, pipelines, tunnels, and bridges. The role directs staff, coordinates with multiple disciplines, and drives client work while ensuring safety and quality.

The ideal candidate has a CA-registered PE with a Civil Engineering background, 8+ years of experience, and strong leadership and business development skills. Travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Civil Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience
• PE registration
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Project management – tracking scope, schedule and budget
• Business development for new and existing clients
• Preparing engineering services proposals, cost estimates, and schedules
• Providing technical leadership for geotechnical projects
• Mentoring and technical development of junior staff
• Reviewing engineering reports and documentation and ensuring quality
