Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Engineering Geologist to provide geotechnical support for transportation projects across New Jersey and New York.

You will perform field reconnaissance, geological mapping, site investigations, develop models, and prepare risk assessments and reports for design teams. The role is hybrid with immediate availability and requires collaboration with NJDOT and other agencies to ensure compliant, safe projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field and 6 years of experience.
  • Valid US Driver's License.
  • Master's degree and NY licensure preferred (PE/PG).

Responsibilities

  • Perform field reconnaissance and geological mapping.
  • Inspect SOE reinforcement and rock mass grouting.
  • Conduct geological and geotechnical site investigations, including soil and rock.
  • Develop geological models, cross-sections, and maps for transportation design.
  • Analyze geotechnical data and prepare detailed risk assessments and reports.
  • Collaborate with engineers and NJDOT to integrate findings into designs.
  • Oversee fieldwork logistics and drilling operations, monitoring instrumentation.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
