Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering undergraduate program at Northeastern University with graduation date June 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Geotechnical Engineering and related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Able to take direction from mentors and managers.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and tools.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
• Actively enrolled in Northeastern University with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering for a subsequent masters/PhD (preferred).
• Experience with MS Office and discipline-specific design software (AutoCAD, Plaxis, MicroStation, RocScience) (preferred).
• Prior internship or leadership involvement on campus (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Geotechnical Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies, and perform additional responsibilities as needed.
