Job summary
Dewberry seeks a Geotechnical Engineer for our Bloomfield, NJ office with a minimum of 3 years of geotechnical experience. You will work on transportation and infrastructure projects, including highway, bridge, and coastal resilience efforts, collaborating across Dewberry offices.

Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering; MS in Geotechnical Engineering preferred or in progress.
- 3–5 years of diverse geotechnical experience, including transportation projects (NJDOT/NJ Turnpike or county agencies)
- FE exam completed; PE preferred
- Experience in building/bridge foundations, pavement design, slope stability, ground improvement
Responsibilities
- Provide field oversight of subsurface investigation programs (soils, rocks, testing).
- Interpret lab results to determine design parameters.
- Develop and oversee geotechnical instrumentation programs and data collection.
- Evaluate and determine appropriate foundation solutions for complex sites.
- Perform geotechnical and foundation design calculations for transportation projects.
- Prepare reports and submissions (Subsurface Exploration, Soils Labs, Foundation Design).
- Review contractor design and submittals; on-site observations of construction.
- Collaborate with junior and senior staff to achieve goals.
