Job summary

NewRange Copper Nickel LLC in Minnesota seeks a Geotechnical Engineer to support the legacy tailings facility under care and maintenance, overseeing field programs and geotechnical design. You will apply fundamental engineering principles to complex problems and help ensure safe tailings management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the mining and/or consulting industry.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, or active progress toward licensure, through a recognized professional engineering organization.
• Significant experience in tailings storage facilities design and management.
• Experience supporting GISTM conformance is an asset.
• Experience in tailings project evaluation at scoping, prefeasibility, feasibility, and operations stages; Minnesota exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, oversight, and execution of geotechnical field programs for tailings facilities.
• Coordinate geotechnical drilling, instrumentation installation, and field investigations.
• Support scoping, prefeasibility, feasibility, and other study phases with design inputs.
• Integrate slope stability, tailings management concepts, and hydrology into design work.
• Manage budgets and contracting for geotechnical programs.
