Job summary

AtkinsRéalis, Denver, CO, is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Tailings Engineer to lead multidisciplinary teams in tailings and mine waste facility design from concept through construction. The role involves coordinating geotechnical investigations, embankment dam work, and slope stability analyses.

The candidate will act as DoR/EoR, ensure GISTM compliance, and participate in technical reviews, conferences, and mentorship of junior engineers.

Qualifications

• University degree in civil or geological engineering with geotechnical emphasis.
• Post-graduate geotechnical study or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in mine waste facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams for siting and design of tailings facilities, heap leach pads and water dam projects.
• Experience in geotechnical investigations and studies for tailings siting.
• Experience in design of tailings management structures, mine waste management, DoR/EoR responsibilities.
• Prepare drawings and technical specifications and be willing to act as Designer of Record or Engineer of Record per GISTM.
