Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Project Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager to join our collaborative team. The role provides geotechnical analysis and project management, interfacing with clients, supervising staff, and delivering across small to large projects in the Phoenix area.

The candidate will perform complex analyses, coordinate reports and construction documents, and oversee field investigations and foundation construction activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering; Master’s degree with Geotechnical emphasis.
• Professional Engineer licensure.
• 6+ years of related Geotechnical experience; 3+ years of field experience with investigations and construction observation.
• Experience preparing technical reports, specifications, construction plans, and geotechnical recommendations; ability to run and coordinate projects and manage clients and staff.
• Strong understanding of codes and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of quantitative/technical analyses and related software.
• Entrepreneurial and professional demeanor; strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Desire and ability to seek out new business opportunities and develop clients while managing workload.
• Ability to coach and assist with staff management; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex geotechnical analyses, design of pile elements and underpinning systems; conduct inspections.
• Prepare proposals, reports, construction documents, and related correspondence.
• Supervise field investigations, earthwork, and foundation construction activities.
• Manage multiple projects within budgets, schedules, and deadlines.
• Plan budgets, develop tasks, prepare progress reports, change orders, invoices, and project billings.
• Perform other duties as requested.
