The Thompson Creek Mine is a primary, surface molybdenum mine and mill located approximately 48 kilometers southwest of the town of Challis in Idaho's Custer County.
In operations since 1983, the mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods with large electric-powered shovels that can each move up to 100,000 tons of waste rock and ore per day.
Thompson Creek Mine promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer, Mine to join our Thompson Creek team. The Geotechnical Engineer, Mine reports to the Superintendent of Mine Engineering and is responsible for overseeing all geotechnical functions at the TCM site. The role focuses on pit slope design and monitoring, structural and rock mass strength assessments, water and ground control, and QA/QC programs. It is a critical part of ensuring geotechnical support for safe, efficient mining operations while also contributing to leadership development and fostering a balance between operational performance and professional growth.
