Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants seeks a mid-career Geotechnical Engineer to join our geotechnical practice in Atlanta, Kennesaw, GA; Austin, TX; or Birmingham, AL. The role covers analyses for landfills, mines, brownfields redevelopment, and water containment systems while developing toward project management and client-facing responsibilities.

The position emphasizes geotechnical analyses, reports, site characterization, and instrumentation, with opportunities for growth in leadership and business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering is required.
• Advanced degree is preferred.
• Professional registration (P.E. or P.G.) is preferred.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 2 years of hire is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Civil design, landfill design, and site layout.
• Geotechnical analyses: slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, seismic, seepage.
• Geotechnical and environmental site characterization.
• Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems.
• Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, specifications, and permit applications.
• Fieldwork associated with design and construction services.
• Potential to take on project management, business development, and mentoring tasks.
