Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Mid-Career Geotechnical Engineer for our Atlanta, Kennesaw, GA office with options for other locations. You will apply geotechnical engineering skills to landfills, mines, and brownfields projects while developing toward project management and client-facing roles.

The role involves reporting, design calculations, instrumentation, and fieldwork, with opportunities for business development and mentoring in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (required).
• Advanced degree preferred.
• Professional licensure (PE/P.G.) preferred.
• EIT certification within 2 years of hire preferred.
• At least 5 years of related experience (required).
• Experience with modeling/design tools such as AUTOCAD, Slope/W, PLAXIS, FLAC, and GIS (preferred).
• Occasional fieldwork and overnight travel (required).
• Excellent writing and communication skills (required).
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Civil design, landfill design, and site layout.
• Geotechnical analyses (slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, seismic, seepage).
• Geotechnical and environmental site characterization.
• Instrumentation monitoring systems development and management.
• Proposal prep support and small project/task management.
• Engineering report preparation, calculations, drawings, specs, permits.
• Fieldwork associated with design and construction services.
• May take on task-level/project management, business development, mentoring tasks.
• Drive to client or project sites as needed.
