Job summary

ALLWEST is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer in the Pacific Northwest to join our employee-owned team. The role blends field exploration, data analysis, and collaboration with project teams to support foundations, slopes, seismic considerations, and construction.

You will perform subsurface investigations, collect and interpret data, prepare calculations and reports, and observe field construction while travel is required within the region and beyond.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Civil or Geological Engineering.
• Minimum of two years geotechnical engineering or related experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with internal teams, clients, and project partners.
• Ability and willingness to travel for project needs, including occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Support geotechnical projects from field exploration through design and construction.
• Perform subsurface investigations, including drilling and test pit activities.
• Collect, evaluate, and interpret field and laboratory data.
• Assist with geotechnical analyses for foundations, slopes, and seismic conditions.
• Prepare technical documentation, calculations, and engineering reports.
• Provide field support and observation during construction.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, clients, and contractors.
