Job summary

CDM Smith currently seeks a Junior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Raleigh, NC team. You will work with experienced geotechnical professionals on a range of infrastructure projects across the Southeast, contributing to planning, investigation, analysis, and design of geotechnical solutions for transportation, water, environmental, municipal, and resiliency projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Geotechnical, Civil, Mining or Geologic Engineering or related discipline.
• 1 year of related experience; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support geotechnical investigations, subsurface explorations, and field data collection.
• Perform engineering analyses and contribute to design of foundations, retaining structures, excavations and earth retention systems.
• Evaluate geotechnical data and soil/rock properties to support recommendations and design development.
• Prepare geotechnical reports, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.
• Review designs for compliance with federal, state, and local requirements and CDM Smith standards.
• Participate in site visits, field observations, and construction-phase services.
