Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer II in Atlanta, GA to assist with plans, calculations, and site inspections. The role supports senior engineers and engineers across disciplines on GDOT-related projects.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, 3–5 years geotechnical experience, and a GA PE license, with proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. A collaborative, fast-paced team environment is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• GDOT project experience preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Internship or co-op in civil engineering preferred.
• Exposure to MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or stormwater tools preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support design and drafting efforts using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and data collection as needed.
• Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and coordination with clients and agencies.
• Participate in internal project meetings and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Support project managers in project delivery, including budgeting and scheduling tasks.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or a related field
• Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working on Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) projects
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Internship or co-op experience in civil engineering preferred.
• Exposure to relevant software such as MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or stormwater modeling tools preferred
