Job summary

Accura Engineering in Nashville, TN seeks a Civil Engineer with 3–5 years of geotechnical experience to support engineering design, calculations, and field data collection. You will assist in preparing plans, reports, and permitting documents, while collaborating with senior engineers and project teams.

The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office, with familiarity in MicroStation or HEC-RAS preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
• Georgia PE license required (GDOT experience preferred).
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office.
• Familiarity with MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or stormwater tools preferred.

Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support design and drafting efforts using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and data collection as needed.
• Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and coordination with clients and agencies.
• Participate in internal project meetings and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Support project managers in project delivery, including budgeting and scheduling tasks.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or a related field
• Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working on Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) projects
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Internship or co-op experience in civil engineering preferred.
• Exposure to relevant software such as MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or stormwater modeling tools preferred
