Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Geotechnical Engineer II in Atlanta, GA to support design teams with site investigations, data analysis, and report preparation.

You will perform basic calculations under supervision, assist with AutoCAD/Civil 3D work, and contribute to GDOT projects while pursuing a Georgia PE license.

This role requires a Civil Eng degree, 3–5 years geotechnical experience, strong communication, and a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 3–5 years of geotechnical engineering experience; GDOT project exposure.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Office; MicroStation/HEC-RAS a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering plans, specs, and reports.

Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer II

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support design and drafting efforts using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and data collection as needed.
• Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and coordination with clients and agencies.
• Participate in internal project meetings and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Support project managers in project delivery, including budgeting and scheduling tasks.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or a related field
• Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience working on Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) projects
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Internship or co-op experience in civil engineering preferred.
• Exposure to relevant software such as MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or stormwater modeling tools preferred
