Job summary

The City of Portland's Permitting & Development team seeks a Geotechnical Engineer to review development plans, calculations, and site features for conformance with codes and standards. You will assess slopes, soils, floods, earthquakes, and other geotechnical issues in collaboration with architects, engineers, and developers.

This is a full-time, hybrid role with on-site duties at The 1900 Building and requires PE licensure in Oregon within six months, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of civil and geotechnical engineering principles and practices.
• Ability to review complex geotechnical reports and calculations.
• Experience with soil mechanics and seismic hazards.
• Strong communication with policymakers and community.
• Ability to collaborate with residents and professionals.
