Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is seeking an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our collaborative team in [OFFICE LOCATION]. This role focuses on planning and executing field investigations, monitoring foundation and earthwork construction, and assisting in geotechnical reports for large-scale projects.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, 0–2 years of experience, and a 3.0+ GPA, with EIT/FE preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering is required.
• Master’s degree with Geotechnical specialty is preferred.
• 0–2 years of work experience is expected.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required or preferred.
• EIT certification or FE exam registration is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Willingness to spend the majority of work hours in the field.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning and execution of field investigations, including logging borings and test pits, collecting samples and data.
• Observe foundation and earthwork construction activities and ensure conformance with documents.
• Identify and implement solutions to field and laboratory problems.
• Prepare logs and field forms (drilling logs, field investigation dailies, chain of custody).
• Conduct site reconnaissance and document searches; report to supervisor on issues.
• Perform other duties as requested by supervisors.
