Langan Engineering & Environmental Services in Arlington, VA is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our collaborative team. You will help plan and execute field investigations, monitor earthwork, and prepare logs and reports for major projects.

The candidate will work in the field most of the time, support geotechnical problem solving, and contribute to large-scale, high-profile assignments with a strong emphasis on safety and quality documentation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required.
1+ year of work-related experience.
Minimum GPA of 3.0.
EIT Certification or current registration for FE exam.
US citizenship is required for federal projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail with analytical and multitasking abilities.
Willingness to spend the majority of work hours in the field.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Assist with planning and execution of field investigations, including logging borings and test pits, collecting samples, and recording data.
Observe foundation and earthwork construction activities for conformance with plans.
Identify and implement field and laboratory solutions to challenges.
Prepare logs, field forms, and chain of custody documents.
Conduct site reconnaissance and document searches.
Communicate problems to supervisor and site team.
Perform other duties as requested.
