Job summary

GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. is seeking entry-level Geotechnical Engineers in Norwood or Amesbury, MA, for May 2027 graduates.

You will support subsurface exploration, field testing and analyses under senior guidance, contributing to foundations, underground structures, and site development projects. The role emphasizes hands-on field and office experience, collaboration with experienced professionals, and opportunities for mentorship, tuition reimbursement, and a path toward professional

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or MS in Civil Engineering with geotechnical focus by May 2027
• Engineer in Training (EIT) is a plus
• Strong communication, problem solving and organizational skills
• Attention to detail with excellent analytical capabilities
• Ability to work independently or in a team setting
• Strong interpersonal skills for rapport with people
• Solid knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and design drawings
• Ability to travel locally to project sites

Responsibilities

• Execute subsurface exploration and in-situ testing programs for foundation design and construction
• Perform field construction observation during shallow and deep foundation work
• Evaluate field data and perform analyses (slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, lateral piles)
• Prepare field summaries, drafts of reports, technical specs and other documents
• Communicate effectively with contractors, clients and team members
• Support the One Company approach by assisting with additional tasks as needed
