Job summary

CTL Engineering, Shelbyville/east Louisville, KY, seeks a Geotechnical Engineer (EIT or PE) to perform geotechnical explorations and investigations for diverse clients. You’ll collaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams to deliver customized studies and reports from concept through final execution.

The role includes significant fieldwork (30–40%), some overnight travel, and opportunities to lead projects in infrastructure, industrial, and commercial sectors.

Qualifications

• 0-4+ years of experience in consulting engineering on civil projects.
• ABET-accredited degree is required; EIT/PE progression preferred.
• BS in Civil Engineering; MS in Geotechnical Engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical explorations and site characterizations.
• Train and supervise lab technicians; manage equipment and testing reviews.
• Prepare lab testing assignments and review results for accuracy.
• Coordinate subsurface investigation programs and field testing.
• Support project teams with geotechnical reports and solutions.
