About the role
A well-established engineering firm with over 70 years of industry experience is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Project Manager to lead operations at its Austin office. This privately owned company has a strong reputation across sectors including residential, commercial, high-rise, education, healthcare, transportation, and more.
This is a full-time, in-person role offering immediate hiring with a two-stage interview process. The first stage involves resume review and application completion, followed by an in-person interview with the hiring manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage construction materials testing projects from initiation to completion.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Review field and lab reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to safety and industry standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to field staff.
Office Leadership
- Oversee daily office operations including scheduling, staffing, and resource planning.
- Manage and mentor both field and administrative personnel.
- Maintain office logistics, equipment, and supplies.
- Support client relationship management and business development.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and staff development.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Construction Materials Testing.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Prior experience in project management and team leadership.
- Familiarity with ASTM/AASHTO testing procedures.
- Certifications such as ACI, NICET, or equivalent are a plus.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Must pass physical exam, drug screening, and background check.
- Open to training and professional development.
