Job summary

Building & Earth Sciences, Inc is seeking a field assistant to support a crew chief in geotechnical and environmental subsurface investigations. Tasks include assisting with drill tooling, site navigation, and equipment maintenance.

The role is generally full time, Monday–Friday with occasional early starts. Travel within 300 miles is common, with per diem for overnight stays on longer trips. Weekend work is possible but limited.

Qualifications

Must be able to move, lift or carry objects 75–100 lbs.
Outdoor work in hot/cold conditions.
Able to understand and communicate in English.
Hold a valid US Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Receive, understand and execute verbal directions.
Assist with navigation to job sites (sometimes remote) effectively and safely.
Assist with routine maintenance, repairs and cleaning of equipment.
Perform pre-trip inspections on vehicles and document properly.
Maintain DOT health card.
Maintain daily drivers log book.
Safely work with hollow stem augers with standard penetration testing.
Safely work with wet rotary drilling with standard penetration testing.
Safely work with wireline and conventional rock coring tools.
Perform all tasks safely.
Drive a company vehicle and adhere to all company guidelines for operation and safety.
