Job summary

Testing Engineers & Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Driller to operate drill rigs and collect soil samples for engineers. The role involves outdoor, year-round work with lifting up to 100 lbs and daily travel to site locations.

Prerequisites include 40–50 hours/week averaged yearly, ability to obtain a CDL within 6 months, and completion of 40-hour OSHA training within 6 months of hire. Prior drilling experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good physical stamina for lifting and long work hours outdoors.
  • Safety-conscious with attention to site hazards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate drilling equipment and perform drilling tasks at various depths.
  • Drill samples from geoprobe, SPT hammer, or cathead SPT hammer.
  • Obtain and measure groundwater samples.
  • Maintain drilling equipment, vehicles, and tools; report issues.
  • Follow site instructions and maps for boring layouts and information.
  • Work with drillers as part of a team; ensure safety on-site.
  • Identify utilities and safety concerns; keep logs and records.
  • Travel to drill sites; commute 1–2 hours daily.
  • Site cleanup and restoration after drilling.
