Job summary

Terracon in the Pittsburgh area seeks Exploration Team Members to perform subsurface exploration using conventional drilling and in-situ testing techniques. You will work with a small team to collect samples, survey points, and document field data.

Responsibilities include supervising a 2–3 person crew, installing monitoring wells, and performing routine maintenance. A high school diploma and 3+ years of drilling experience are required, with a valid driver's license often needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years’ drilling experience.
• Proficient in geotechnical and/or environmental drilling methods.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
• Many states require specific driller/well installation licensure.

Responsibilities

• Operate geotechnical drill rig to advance boreholes to required depths.
• Oversee a 2 or 3 person drill crew in drilling operations.
• Be proficient in multiple drilling methods common to the region.
• Install instrumentation and monitoring wells.
• Follow safety rules and maintain quality standards on projects.
