Job summary

Terracon is seeking a field technician to support geotechnical exploration tasks in the Lenexa area. You will operate a geotechnical drill rig, advance shallow boreholes, and assist in site reconnaissance while maintaining equipment and safety standards.

The role requires at least 1 year of field experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license. DOT Medical Card within 30 days is needed to start, with potential licensure in some states.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of field experience in geotechnical drilling or CPT.
• Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card within first 30 days of employment.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a geotechnical drill rig to advance shallow boreholes in soil.
• Oversee a 2-man drill crew in all tasks associated with drilling operations.
• Install instrumentation and monitoring wells.
• Perform routine repairs and maintenance.
• Perform basic surveying, site reconnaissance, and utility clearance tasks.
• Drive all forms of drilling equipment to project locations.
• Inspect and complete routine maintenance of equipment.
• Follow safety rules and report safety issues to management.
• Maintain quality standards on all projects.
