GTA is seeking a Geotechnical Driller for our Sterling, VA office. The role involves performing geotechnical and direct push explorations using Geoprobe and hollow stem auger methods, with daily logs and strict safety practices.

Applicants should have approximately five years of geotechnical drilling experience and the ability to lift heavy loads, walk uneven terrain, and work outdoors in varied weather. This is an onsite position requiring physical endurance.

Qualifications

• OSHA training preferred but not required
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds as needed

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical and direct push explorations and well installations using hollow stem auger and mud rotary methods.
• Operate and maintain drill rig equipment on a day-to-day basis.
• Document geotechnical borings with daily logs.
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area.
• Operate within state and local regulations.

GTA is currently seeking a Geotechnical Driller for our Sterling, VA office.

Successful applicants should have experience with the following:

Responsibilities

• Performing geotechnical and direct push “Geoprobe” explorations and well installations using hollow stem auger and mud rotary methods.
• Performing day-to-day operation and maintenance of drill rig equipment
• Documenting geotechnical boring with daily logs
• Maintaining a clean and hazard free work area
• Operating within state and local regulations

This is a physically demanding position; successful candidates must have the ability to lift 50+ pounds, have the ability to walk on uneven terrain and in undeveloped wooded areas.

Qualifications

• Driver's License
• Satisfactory driving record
• 5 Years Geotechnical Drilling Experience
• OSHA training and ability to maintain rigs preferred but not required
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds

Physical Requirements

Most of your day will be spent outdoors. Be prepared to work in a variety of weather conditions. This position may require standing for extended durations as well as repetitive motions such as lifting or hammering. You must have the ability to use your hands to handle, finger or feel; reach, climb or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit, smell and see (including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus).
