Job summary

WSP in Louisville, KY seeks an Assistant Vice President, Geotechnical Engineering Manager to lead and grow the geotechnical practice, building high-performing teams and delivering innovative infrastructure solutions.

The role combines technical depth with strong leadership, client relationship development, and strategic oversight across multi-site projects, from due diligence to design and construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; multi-state registration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from sites, samples, surveys, GIS data, and other sources for project development and design.
• Lead complex investigations and inspections of site conditions including subsurface investigations, foundation engineering, settlement analysis, and slope stability assessments.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, safety plans, and phasing plans while coordinating with owners, internal disciplines, subconsultants, and clients.
• Lead projects from planning through construction, including grading, drainage, foundations, retaining structures, embankments, and other geotechnical elements.
• Drive business development, cultivate client relationships, lead pursuits and proposals, and identify opportunities for growth across the region.
• Mentor geotechnical staff, manage staffing and performance, and foster collaboration and continuous learning.
