Job summary

WSP USA in Louisville, KY is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Geotechnical Engineering Manager to lead our geotechnical practice. You will oversee multi-site projects, mentor teams, and grow client relationships while delivering resilient infrastructure solutions.

The role requires extensive geotechnical expertise, strong leadership, and a track record in business development, design, permitting, and construction support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical focus.
• 10+ years of post-education experience in geotechnical engineering and design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license; multi-state registration preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in geotechnical engineering principles, practices, design, construction, permitting, and project delivery.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills with clients, regulators, project managers, and executives.
• Knowledge of applicable building codes, permitting requirements, and QA/QC.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical projects from planning through construction, including budgeting and staffing.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to geotechnical staff.
• Drive business development and cultivate client relationships across the region.
• Review permits, designs, contracts, and construction activities for compliance with regulations and sound engineering practices.
• Collaborate with regional and national leadership to align goals, standards, and growth initiatives.
• Maintain safety, QA/QC, and professional ethics across all projects.
