Job summary

The Geostructural Group Leader at Engineering Consulting Service will helm the geostructural service line, directing strategy, technical delivery, and client engagement.

You will lead a team of engineers, oversee project design, calculations, reporting, and budgets, and drive revenue growth while upholding ECS core values.

Qualifications

• 10 years of related experience as an engineering consultant/designer in geostructural/geotechnical industry
• Capable of meeting promotion requirements of ECS Associate Principal or Principal within 6 months of hire
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Materials Science Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Geology
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS subsidiary
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Advanced project management, technical consulting, and business development skills
• Expert knowledge of geostructural systems: ground improvement methods, retaining walls, SOE, underpinning and dewatering, deep foundation systems (e.g., micropiles)
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills
• Ability to build and lead high-performing teams
• Understanding of consulting operations, budgeting, and financial performance
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements strategic business plans for the geostructural service line
• Drives growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
• Builds and maintains strong relationships with contractors, clients, and industry partners
• Leads and develops a team of engineers and technical professionals
• Oversees project delivery, including technical design, calculations, and reporting
• Reviews and approves project deliverables, including plans, specifications, and engineering analyses
• Evaluates contractor submittals, including materials, procedures, and testing documentation
• Ensures high-quality technical execution across all projects
• Manages staffing, workload distribution, and team performance
• Oversees day-to-day operations of the service line
• Ensures compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and company standards
• Supports geotechnical project work as needed during service line development
• Prepares and reviews proposals, budgets, and project financials
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• 10 years of related experience as an engineering consultant/designer in the Geostructural or Geotechnical industry
• Capable of meeting the promotion requirements of an ECS Associate Principal or Principal within 6 months of hire date
• Bachelor of Science in any of the multi-disciplined Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Materials Science Engineering, Architectural Engineering, and Geology
• If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid drivers license is required
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Advanced project management, technical consulting, and business development skills
• Expert knowledge of geostructural systems, including:
