Job summary

Esri’s Geo Experience Center is seeking an Application Developer to build prototype applications that explore digital cartography and web-based GIS experiences. You will work with JavaScript, TypeScript, ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, and modern web frameworks to test ideas and visualize spatial data.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create prototypical applications informed by real-world use cases and customer needs, advancing Esri’s geospatial technology through

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience developing web applications using JavaScript; TypeScript experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain prototype applications and proofs of concept using JavaScript, TypeScript, and ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript
• Contribute to the design and implementation of user experiences for web applications, digital cartographic visualizations, and interactive map‑based workflows
• Assist in prototyping and experimenting with novel web‑based maps, scenes, and spatial data visualizations, helping explore how geospatial information can be effectively represented in browser‑based contexts
• Work with modern web application frameworks such as React, Angular, Svelte, or Vue to build targeted, stand‑alone web applications and reusable UI components
• Collaborate with core development and SDK teams during release development sprints, providing feedback on APIs, beta capabilities, tools, workflows, documentation, and developer experience
• Explore and apply emerging web visualization capabilities, including WebGL and browser‑based real‑time visualization, to support advanced 2D, 3D, and multidimensional spatial experiences
• Evolve coding and development skills by staying current with JavaScript, TypeScript, complementary programming languages, development practices, coding tools, and user interface design techniques
