Job summary

Esri is seeking an Application Developer to join the Geo Experience Center team to build prototype apps that explore digital cartography, advanced map visualizations, and web-based GIS experiences. You will use JavaScript, TypeScript, ArcGIS Maps SDK, and modern frameworks to test ideas and visualize spatial data.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience developing web applications using JavaScript; TypeScript experience preferred.
• Experience with modern web application frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, or similar technologies.
• Experience with code management systems and CI/CD.
• Foundational understanding of digital cartography, data visualization, or geospatial application development.
• Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 25-50%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain prototype applications and proofs of concept using JavaScript, TypeScript, and ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of user experiences for web applications and interactive map-based workflows.
• Assist in prototyping web-based maps and 3D visualizations for browser contexts.
• Work with React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, or Vue to build stand-alone apps and reusable UI components.
• Collaborate with SDK teams during release sprints, providing feedback on APIs, tools, and documentation.
• Explore and apply WebGL and real-time visualization for 2D/3D spatial experiences.
• Keep skills up-to-date with JavaScript/TypeScript and related UI design practices.
