Job summary

Esri in the United States (Virginia) seeks an Application Developer to build prototype GIS web apps using JavaScript/TypeScript and ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript. You will craft engaging map visualizations and web experiences as part of a multidisciplinary team.

You will collaborate with React/Angular/Vue/Svelte teams, contribute to UX, and prototype web maps and scenes for early-stage innovation. Domestic travel up to 25–50% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or related field.
• Experience with modern web frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, Svelte) and JS/TS.
• Foundational understanding of digital cartography, data visualization, or geospatial apps.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain prototype applications and proofs of concept using JavaScript, TypeScript, and ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.
• Contribute to UX design for web apps, cartographic visualizations, and interactive map-based workflows.
• Prototype novel web maps, scenes, and spatial data visualizations in browser contexts.
• Work with React, Angular, Svelte, or Vue to build standalone apps and reusable UI components.
• Collaborate with core teams during releases, providing API and documentation feedback.
• Explore WebGL and real-time browser visualization for 2D/3D spatial experiences.
• Evolve skills with JS/TS and related tools, frameworks, and UI techniques.
