Job summary

Esri is seeking an Application Developer to join the Geo Experience Center team in Redlands to build prototype applications exploring digital cartography, advanced map visualizations, and web GIS experiences. You’ll work hands-on with JavaScript, TypeScript, ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, and modern frameworks to test ideas and visualize spatial data.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience developing web applications using JavaScript; TypeScript experience preferred.
• Experience with modern web application frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, or similar technologies.
• Experience with code management systems and CI/CD.
• Foundational understanding of digital cartography, data visualization, or geospatial application development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain prototype applications and proofs of concept using JavaScript, TypeScript, and ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of user experiences for web applications, digital cartographic visualizations, and interactive map-based workflows.
• Assist in prototyping and experimenting with novel web-based maps, scenes, and spatial data visualizations.
• Work with modern web application frameworks such as React, Angular, Svelte, or Vue to build targeted, stand-alone web applications and reusable UI components.
• Collaborate with core development and SDK teams during release development sprints, providing feedback on APIs, beta capabilities, tools, workflows, documentation, and developer experience.
• Explore and apply emerging web visualization capabilities, including WebGL and browser-based real-time visualization, to support advanced 2D, 3D, and multidimensional spatial experiences.
