Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Geospatial System Engineer (Geospatial ETL) to support customer activities in Bethesda, MD. You will develop geospatial data workflows, perform data transformation and analysis with Esri ArcPoly, GDAL, GeoPandas, and related tools.

Responsibilities include data automation, ETL tooling like SAFE and FME, and managing ArcGIS Enterprise databases such as Postgres and GeoMesa.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of experience with geospatial data formats (proprietary and open-source).
• Proficiency in Python and geospatial APIs (Esri ArcPoly, GDAL, GeoPandas).
• Security clearance: TS/SCI with active Polygraph.
• Location: Bethesda, MD – On Customer Site.

Responsibilities

• Develop geospatial data workflows and ETL pipelines.
• Automate geospatial data workflows using tools like ArcGIS GeoEvent Server, ArcGIS Workflow Manager, and Apache NiFi.
• Work with geospatial databases/datastores such as ArcGIS Enterprise Database, Postgres, and GeoMesa.
• Employ ETL tools such as SAFE and FME for data transformation and automation.
