Job summary

Schneider Geomatics in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Geospatial Survey Technician I to support surveying, mapping, and civil engineering projects. This role blends UAV/drone technology, LiDAR, photogrammetry, 3D scanning, data processing, and traditional field surveying.

You will operate survey equipment, collect and process geospatial data, create drawings and 3D models, and assist with data analysis while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; FAA Part 107 certification preferred.
• Experience with DJI and Trimble equipment; stereo compilation/extraction valued.
• Strong computer, communication and organizational skills; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate UAV, terrestrial scanning, GPS, Total Station and other survey equipment.
• Collect and process imagery, LiDAR, point clouds, and survey data.
• Perform stereo compilation, extraction, quality control, and data finishing.
• Create planimetric/topographic drawings and 3D surface models.
• Perform volumetric cut-and-fill calculations.
• Assist Surveyors with integrating and analyzing geospatial data.
• Maintain accurate field notes, survey data, and equipment; follow safety standards.
