Job summary

The University of Virginia's Facilities Management seeks a Geospatial Space Analyst to provide geospatial data analysis and information maintenance supporting space planning and strategic decision-making.

You will analyze the campus space inventory, maintain floorplans, create AutoCAD drawings, and collaborate with project managers and facilities staff to develop geospatial solutions that improve space utilization and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in one of the specified fields.
• Minimum four years of professional geospatial experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and ArcGIS.
• Experience with Microsoft Access, Excel, and SQL.
• Experience handling large-scale spatial data for planning.
• Knowledge of FICM standards is a plus.

Facilities Management at the University of Virginia seeks a Geospatial Space Analyst to provide geospatial data analysis and information maintenance services supporting space planning and strategic decision-making. The role involves analyzing university space inventory data, maintaining floorplans, creating AutoCAD drawings, and collaborating with project managers and facilities staff to develop geospatial solutions. The position reports to the Geospatial Engineering Service Team and supports regulatory reporting and space utilization improvements across the university.

Key qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, Planning, Architecture, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, or Computer-aided Drafting and Design
• Minimum four years of professional experience with geospatial platforms such as AutoCAD and ArcGIS
• Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and SQL or similar relational database management
• Experience analyzing, developing, integrating, and managing large-scale data sets for spatial planning
• Experience integrating space information with enterprise information systems (preferred)
• Knowledge of Postsecondary Education Facilities Inventory and Classification Manual (FICM) standards (preferred)
