Job summary

The University of Virginia’s Facilities Management is seeking a Geospatial Space Analyst to support space planning and information management. You will analyze space inventory data, develop standard reports, and maintain AutoCAD floor plans while collaborating with project managers, consultants, and facilities staff.

This role emphasizes data quality, system integration, and accurate space occupancy information to support renovations and new construction projects within UVA’s facilities network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Planning, Architecture, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering or CAD or equivalent with significant coursework.
• A minimum of four years of professional experience utilizing geospatial platforms such as AutoCAD and ArcGIS, and managing large-scale data sets for spatial planning and management.

Responsibilities

• Analyze university-wide space inventory data using geospatial and database tools to assess data quality and reliability.
• Develop and maintain standard space reports and reporting services for frequent data requests.
• Identify data trends to improve space utilization and efficiency.
• Manage space planning assignments and associated reports.
• Ensure data transfer and integration between university enterprise systems.
• Create and maintain AutoCAD drawings of floor plans and occupancy information.
• Conduct space walk audits to validate occupancy data.
