Job summary

KBR Wyle Services, LLC is seeking a Software Engineer 3 in Sioux Falls, SD to support geospatial data processing, storage, and distribution for USGS Science projects. You will work within the SDLC framework and coordinate with Enterprise Architects and other software engineers on design, development, and deployment of large-scale applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field with 5 years progressive experience.
• Experience designing, developing, deploying geospatial applications for large-scale data.
• Strong Python data processing workflow development experience.
• Strong JavaScript (Node.js, React) skills for enterprise apps.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience Unix/Linux deployments and containerization.

Responsibilities

• Support geospatial data processing, storage, and distribution for USGS Science projects.
• Lead, communicate, and coordinate with Enterprise Architects and software engineers in design, development, and deployment of large-scale applications.
• Analyze system and user requirements to define software requirements and provide estimated work.
• Design components, document specifications, and ensure SDLC compliance.
• Manage peer reviews and maintain databases for large data processing with security.
• Plan migrations to Kubernetes containers and collaborate with System Administrators.
