Job summary

WGI is seeking a Director of Remote Sensing to lead the Remote Sensing Department within the Geospatial Division. You will oversee staffing, production capacity, equipment, and project delivery across airborne LiDAR and imagery programs.

You will provide strategic and technical leadership, ensure QA/QC, and drive automation and process improvements while coordinating with project managers and other disciplines. This is an in‑office leadership role with travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, GIS, Geography, Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry, Engineering, Computer Science preferred; advanced degree a plus.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in LiDAR, photogrammetry, remote sensing, surveying, mapping, or related geospatial disciplines; proven leadership of technical teams and complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of airborne LiDAR and imagery acquisition and production; understanding of GNSS/IMU trajectory processing, calibration, boresight, strip adjustment, and QA/QC.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operations of WGI's Remote Sensing Department, including staffing, capacity, equipment, and process improvements.
• Provide operational oversight of airborne LiDAR and imagery acquisition programs with proper procedures and resources.
• Oversee production workflows for LiDAR and imagery across multiple platforms and ensure quality standards from processing to delivery.
• Develop and implement QA/QC procedures with measurable checkpoints and quarterly audits.
• Provide technical leadership, risk evaluation, and cross‑department collaboration for complex projects.
• Mentor staff, plan succession, and develop future leaders within the department.
• Manage equipment lifecycle, technology investments, and automation to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Support business development through technical input, proposals, and client interactions.
