Job summary

WGI in Austin, TX seeks a Director, Remote Sensing to lead the Remote Sensing Department within the Geospatial Division. You will oversee staff, technology, processes, and quality systems to deliver airborne LiDAR and imagery projects, coordinating with other departments and clients.

The role requires strategic and technical leadership, program oversight, staff development, risk management, and continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor-level degree in a relevant geospatial field; advanced degree a plus.
10+ years in LiDAR, photogrammetry, remote sensing, or related disciplines.
Experience leading technical teams and complex projects.
Knowledge of airborne LiDAR and imagery workflows, QA/QC, and production management.

Responsibilities

Lead the Remote Sensing Department operations, staffing, and production capacity.
Provide QA/QC, risk assessment, and technical leadership across projects.
Oversee airborne LiDAR/imagery programs and production workflows.
Mentor staff, develop expertise, and plan resource allocation.
Coordinate with project managers, clients, and other divisions.
Drive automation, process improvements, and standards.
Support business development and client-facing technical proposals.
Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality deliverables.
