Job summary

Royal seeks a GIS Manager to lead its GIS program and oversee staff, data, mapping, and technology. This role combines leadership with hands-on geospatial work to deliver accurate maps and analyses for projects and clients.

You will collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to define GIS needs, establish workflows, and deliver maps and applications using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online within budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in GIS or related field.
• 5+ years GIS experience with 2+ years leading staff.
• Strong ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online/Enterprise experience.
• Experience managing geodatabases and creating maps and analyses.
• Knowledge of coordinate systems, metadata, and QC processes.
• Ability to manage priorities, estimate effort, and budgets.
• Strong communication to technical and nontechnical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day GIS operations; assign work, set priorities, and review deliverables.
• Develop and maintain GIS standards for data organization, coordinate systems, metadata, cartography, and QA/QC.
• Manage spatial databases and geodatabases; data collection, editing, validation, versioning, integration.
• Oversee creation of maps, spatial analyses, web maps, dashboards, and apps using ArcGIS Pro/Online.
• Coordinate with project teams to define scope, estimate effort, manage schedules and budgets.
• Support projects with terrain analysis, LiDAR data, imagery, and infrastructure mapping.
• Develop field data collection workflows with ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123; integrate data.
• Improve workflows through Python/ArcPy/ModelBuilder automation.
• Coordinate with IT on GIS software, licensing, access, deployment, data protection.
• Provide training, documentation; support proposals and GIS services.
