Job summary

NV5 is seeking an Aircraft Captain to lead geospatial flight missions as PIC, owning safety, compliance, and efficient operations from planning through postflight. You will map and measure the world while guiding crew and coordinating with clients to deliver exceptional outcomes.

The role requires substantial flight experience, FAA currency, and a strong focus on accuracy, safety, and regulatory adherence in a dynamic setting. Base in Wisconsin with travel.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, collaboration, and judgment in dynamic environments.
• Professional presence and composure under pressure; ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Preferred: CFI, CFII, MEI; 1+ year as flight/multiengine instructor; aerial survey experience.
• Preferred aircraft experience: King Air 200, Cessna Conquest II, Cessna Caravan; remote flying in Alaska or similar.

Responsibilities

• Serve as PIC for geospatial survey operations with final authority for flight safety and compliance.
• Lead end-to-end mission planning: performance calcs, weather analysis, fuel strategy, route optimization.
• Coordinate with ground support, ATC, clients, and internal stakeholders for seamless execution.
• Partner with Sensor Operator to deliver accurate mission results.
• Conduct preflight and post-flight inspections and maintain aircraft interior.
