Job summary

Mountaineer Gas Company is seeking a Manager, IT Geospatial Systems to lead a team of GIS professionals and set the geospatial platform roadmap in West Virginia. You will oversee SDLC, architecture, security, upgrades, and cross-system integrations to support critical utility operations.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting, and collaboration with Operations and procurement to meet regulatory requirements and ensure reliable, secure geospatial services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, CS, IT, or related field, or equivalent.
• Five years’ experience with geospatial or enterprise systems.
• Three years’ experience leading highly technical teams.
• Experience managing enterprise systems and SDLC.
• Familiarity with Python, C#, REST APIs and integration middleware.

Responsibilities

• Directs GIS platforms strategy, architecture design, security, and DR/BC.
• Oversees development, administration, and support of GIS tools and data.
• Develops geospatial roadmap and budget aligned with IT strategy.
• Leads major GIS initiatives, upgrades, and integrations.
• Collaborates with Procurement and IT PMO on contracts and licenses.
• Coordinates GIS with enterprise systems and data governance.
• Guides staffing, coaching, and career development of GIS team.
