Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Geospatial Engineer to collect, process, and present geographic data to support military operations and decision-making in the field. You will help commanders visualize terrain and assist in mapping, analysis, and planning with practical GIS tools.

You will participate in training that covers 10 weeks of Basic Training and 20 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, followed by on-the-job instruction.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
• Imagery interpretation and exploitation basics.
• Interest in geography, maps, and charts.

Responsibilities

• Create geographic data and compile them into maps.
• Create and maintain multiple geospatial databases.
• Prepare military-style briefs covering all aspects of the terrain.
